March 2020 Recap

How is everyone doing??? We are hanging in there. We have had various illnesses during this quarantine but none too serious. It's been a huge adjustment for the extroverts I live with for sure. I, despite an abundance of extra time, feel listless. It actually feels harder to get these done. I actually read 12 books this month but most were rereads. I'm having a focus issue right now, so rereads are working better for me. The Favorites of the New Reads: Love Lettering  by Kate Clayborn Sal and Gabi Break the Universe  by Carlos Hernandez Undercover Bromance  by Lyssa Kay Adams January in Numbers: Total: 12 New: 4           Rereads: 8 MG: 1             YA:  1             Adult: 10 Contemporary: 2 Historical: 9 Fantasy: 0 Science-Fiction: 1 Non-Fiction: 0 April has a couple of releases I'm really looking forward to, so hopefully my focus and attention span will retu...

December 19 Stats

Here are my reading stats for the last month of 2019. Look at all those new reads! (See what three weeks off of school with nowhere to go can do!) December Favorites: Total Reads: 8 (7 new, 1 reread) MG: 2 YA: 2 Adult: 4 Contemporary: 5 Historical: 1 Fantasy: 2 Looking forward to January, here are the releases I'm most anticipating: How was everyone else's reading month? What are you looking forward to reading in January?

October-November 2019 Stats

Due to busyness I was unable to past a Stats post for October, so I am combining October and November. Here are my Favorite Reads: October-November in Numbers New Reads: 11 Rereads: 10 MG: 4 YA: 3 Adult: 14 Fantasy: 4 Contemporary: 7 Historical: 9 Non-Fiction: 1 We are not discussing the current state of the TBR shelf.

September 2019 Stats

So this is waayyyyy late. I didn't really read any new-to-me books that wowed me this month, and I was mostly rereading anyways. I did get to reread my all time favorite: September in Numbers: New Reads: 3 Rereads: 11 MG: 0 YA: 3 Adult: 11 Fiction: 13 Non-Fiction: 1 Realistic Fiction: 12 Speculative Fiction: 1 The TBR shelf is ever-growing, but I actually have already read two new to me books in October. Yay!

August 2019 Stats

School is back in full swing. Can you tell? I actually read a lot this month, but they were almost all familiar, comfort rereads and books for English class. Favorite New Read of August: August in Numbers: New Reads: 3 Rereads: 7 MG: 1 YA: 2 Adult: 7 Fiction: 10 Realistic Fiction: 8 Speculative Fiction: 2 I don't have a pic of the TBR shelf this month. It's almost embarrassing. It's pretty much all the same books as last month plus some a bunch more I picked up at the library. Here's to hoping I find a school rhythm soon, stay well*, and am able to read more new stuff. What good books did you read in August?

July 2019 Stats

July is always a mad rush for as I'm beginning/preparing for another school year. But I did manage to get some good reading in, and one of those books is one of my favorites of the year so far. I read two non-fiction books this month and both of them are on the favorites board. Maybe I should read more non-fiction? Favorites of July: July in Numbers: New Reads: 7 Rereads: 2 MG: 2 YA: 3 Adult: 4 Fiction: 7 Non-Fiction: 2 Realistic Fiction: 6 Fantasy/Sci-Fi: 1 Here is the current TBR shelf: For those of you following each new exciting installment of "Brandy Reads Her Own Books", you will notice that....I bought more. Gasp. Shock. Awe. I miss the library though, so I'm going back this month. What new reads did you love in July?

June 2019 Stats

June has been busy busy, and I've been doing a ton of school prep. I have found some new favorite reads however. Here They Are: June in Numbers: New Reads: 5 Rereads: 1 MG: 0 YA: 1 Adult: 5 Fiction: 6 Non-Fiction: 0 Realistic Fiction: 5 Fantasy/Sci-Fi: 1 So....June was supposed to be a "read the books I own month" and it WAS. Buuuuutttt...I went on vacation and bought more books, so this shelf is still out of control. July will also be a "read the books I own month". Do you see the difference from previous months? No? Me either.

May 2019 Stats

This is late because I've been busy and traveling. I DNFed a lot of books in May. I'm not worried though because I also loved a lot of books in May. I think I just unluckily picked up several duds in a row. May Favorites: June is going to be another "Read the Books I Own" Month. I don't have a picture of the shelf because that didn't happen before I left but it hasn't changed much! Just minus the library books.

April 2019 Stats

April was another good month. I'm so happy to have my reading mojo back this year! April Favorites: *whisper shouts* Everyone read Spinning Silver . Seriously. April in Numbers: New Reads: 9 Rereads: 1 MG: 3 YA: 2 Adult: 5 Fiction: 10 Non-Fiction: 0 Realistic Fiction: 5 Fantasy/Sci-Fi: 5 And onto May! A month that is filled with more stuff than December in terms of events and celebrations. Here's hoping I can find time to read too. May has so many cute looking romcom releases I'm looking forward to. Just perfect for June vacation reading! There is also the obligatory TBR shelf pic. If you are noticing that the shelf has even more books, it's because all my summer book club titles are on there now too. Have you ready any books that recently that are new favorites? What are you looking forward to reading?

March 2019 Stats

I didn't get nearly as much read in March a I wanted as there was a lot of traveling where I was busy doing things. I didn't make a very big dent in my books-I-own-but-haven't-read stack. I did read quite a bit all things considered, and they were good . March Favorites: A look at my February Reading in Numbers: New Reads: 7 Rereads: 4 MG: 2 YA: 3 Adult: 6 Fiction: 10 Non-Fiction: 1 Realistic Fiction: 9 Fantasy/Sci-Fi: 1 Here is a look at my April TBR shelf. Somehow there are more books on it instead of less. Not sure how THAT happened. (I totally know how that happened.)

February 2019 Stats

I didn't get quite as many new books in this past month. I'm still encouraged as it wasn't due to a lack of wanting to read, but a combination of prep work for school and a never ending roundabout of sickness the kids and I were sharing. The February Favorites: A look at my February Reading in Numbers: MG: 7 YA: 3 Adult: 2 Fiction: 12 Non-Fiction: 0 Realistic Fiction: 7 Fantasy/Sci-Fi:5 Onward and Forward! I have decided that March is going to be a Read the Books You Own month. I'm not putting any more library books on hold. I've managed to get my outstanding holds down to two, so I should have plenty of time to dedicate to this. Since my most anticipated release of this month is a book I've already pre-ordered, it will slip right into this.

May Stats

Hey Everone! Here are my favorite May reads with general stats for the month. I didn't do a monthly stats report for March or April because I didn't read many new books and had no new favorites to add. But I seem to be getting my groove back this month. I even have TWO whole posts schedule for next week. GASP! One is the review for the favorite May read on the right and the other is the return of Future Favorites Friday. Hopefully I still have readers.

February Stats

So not anywhere near as good as last month. February was a MONTH. Let me tell you. LOVED A Sky Full of Stars SO MUCH though. I'm still thinking about and unpacking that one. Did you have a favorite read in February?

January Reading Stats

Here is what a snapshot of what I read and loved in January. Not a bad start to the year I guess. (I am still behind on what my goals were. I got distracted by library books.) Did you read anything you loved this past month?
