I did not put Gaudy Night on my list, which is clearly a TERRIBLE omission! (You have several others I love, but how did I miss that one?)

I'm reading CRUEL BEAUTY right now. Like, furtively, under my desk at work. I wasn't convinced that I liked it until almost 100 pages in, but I'm now at obsession point. *happy sigh*

Cruel Beauty is just so much the perfect book for me I can't think about objectively. I want everyone to love it, but know they won't. It worked on every level for me though.

YES! It is a perfect furtive under the desk read. I too was sneaking it as much as I could through the day when I was reading it.

Cruel Beauty is next on my to-read list - it is sitting in my library bag waiting patiently for me to finish up the books due back before it. I can't wait to dive into it!

Love that I'm not the only one who swoons over Gaudy Night. And the Queen's Thief books!

Oh, if you like the relationship dynamics in Sayers and Turner, then you should like Cruel Beauty for sure!

Oh, Meant to Be! That's one I definitely should've had on my list. And I'm ashamed I still haven't read Queen of Attolia. I read The Thief...just nothing else in that series, much to the dismay of my sister!

Jellicoe Road is one of my absolute favourites! I've been meaning to read Meant To Be, I've heard from many it's swoon-worthy!

Yay, I've read most of these! Except for Gaudy Night and Meant to Be. Not that interested in Crown of Embers since I didn't really enjoy the first book.

I actually have my students create social media pages for characters for extra credit assignments, so I've always thought this was fun to think about. Favorite Kissing Scenes

When thinking of a favorite things post I could do for February I decided it would have to be kissing. I've already done couples and I was feeling in the mood to do something fluffy and Valentine's related. So kisses it is. I read more MG than YA, and the YA I read tends to not focus on romance so this was actually harder than I expected it to be though a few jumped into my head right away. (And one of my choices does actually come from a MG book. One is adult. Gasp!) The actual scene from the book is quoted followed by my thoughts. The king lifted a hand to her cheek and kissed her. The Penderwicks in Spring

The Penderwicks is not just one of my favorite ongoing series; it is one of my favorite series of all time. I'm always astounded by the depth of emotion and diverse, realistic relationship dynamics Birdsall is able to capture with these characters. The Penderwicks in Spring  surpassed my expectations even though they were astronomically high already. It is now my favorite, having edged out  The Penderwicks on Gardam Street . Shadowshaper  by Daniel José Older is everywhere. Best of lists. Award buzz. Blogs everywhere. It's one of those books everyone is reading and talking about. I had it on my TBR but decided I definitely needed to read it before the year was out just so I could weigh in on one of the most talked about books of 2015 if asked.
